Between Holidays

So, I've been up to a lot lately. We've been receiving lots of interest from potential extras - this is great, and much appreciated! Keep it coming!
I've also finally began discussions with the towns of Arlington and Wellesley about filming permits. It appears that this will go rather smoothy. So we now have a tentative agreement to film at Olin College, Babson College, Wellesley College, the town of Wellesley, and the town of Arlington. All this leaves is an ice cream parlor for one scene, and we'll be legally able to film the whole movie - pretty awesome.
Aside from planning for future filming, I've been editing some of the footage that we have from our December shoots - it looks and sounds great. Look for some clips online soon, just to give you a sense of what we're capable of.
I've been working with a Babson student who manages bands to try and find some bands that would be interested in contributing work to the movie in exchange for equity in the project, and in the movie's soundtrack. This has been going really well. In addition to the lyrical music provided by various bands, we'll probably be having two Olin students record a "score," just on acoustic and electric guitar. They're already written and recorded some tracks, and they're excellent.
What else have I been up to? Working on updating the
photo gallery, and new versions of our first behind-the-scenes
video - it's now available in QuickTime, and Windows Media is up next. These are higher quality video, and they're smaller files than the Flash version.
And lastly, I finally finished reading
Mystic River. Excellent book, albeit depressing - this had been on my to-do list since June. I plan to watch the movie tomorrow. Having written a movie now, I had all kinds of ideas while reading the book about what scenes I would and wouldn't include, and how I would shoot them - I'm very curious to see what Clint Eastwood chose to do. For anyone who liked Mystic River, check out Shutter Island, by the same author (Dennis Lehane).
For now, I'm going to get to bed. Tomorrow's main task is to iron out the final details of the remainder of the shooting schedule, so that we can actually get our filming permits signed.
